We are alive!
I can't help but think about Loverboy's Working For The Weekend when I think about my and Matthew's semester. We truly are working for Thanksgiving! Luckily, we only have three school days until we are graced with the bliss of sleeping in, pie & turkey, and a break!
On average, I think Matthew spends about 4-5 hours a day in class and 7-8 on homework. I would never major in physics, but, thankfully, it seems to be something Matthew enjoys (something I picked up on after spending my dinners being informed about torque, opposing forces, gamma rays, etc.) and something that works out quite well with my busy school schedule! [As a side note, Matthew is in a photography class and has taken some pretty great pictures this semester. I will have him post them this weekend!!]
Since we are in November and getting close to Thanksgiving, I will state something I am grateful for: I am grateful for the eight semesters I have taken classes here at BYU-Idaho, for the teachers I have learned from, for the many friends and connections I have made, and that my time here is almost done! College is hard work. I love it, but it is hard. I just signed up for classes for next semester (10 classes = 14 credits), and am excited because I was offered two more jobs by teachers (yaaaaaay!) So aside from tutoring I will be leading the saxophone section in the non-audition band and T.A.-ing for one of my education teachers! Blessings keep coming and coming! I am a little anxious about next semester, but also very excited!
This semester has been challenging, as all these silly short BYU-I semesters are, but has not been without its perks:
Matthew and I have been able to attend the temple almost every week this semester and that has been great!
Every week we meet up with one of our "couple" friends and play a mean million games of Mexican Dominos (which I almost always dominate...just saying!)
Right now at home, we have this lovely and delicious smelling concoction in our crockpot for dinner and I am beyond excited to try it! [I will let you know how it goes]
My favorite thought this week is a quote by President Monson:
"We live in a unique time in the world’s history. We are blessed with so
very much. And yet it is sometimes difficult to view the problems and
permissiveness around us and not become discouraged. I have found that,
rather than dwelling on the negative, if we will take a step back and
consider the blessings in our lives, including seemingly small,
sometimes overlooked blessings, we can find greater happiness." Consider The Blessings
I have lots of blessings! Life is good.
We can't wait until Thanksgiving to be with ya'll. I love that you are so happy and blessed!
