I am a cluttered person. I tend to write my class notes on random sheets of paper that end up in random places, I like to have a lamp, a coaster, a picture frame, books, a place for my glasses, my scriptures, etc., all next to my bed. Well, that posed a problem in our new house because we didn't have anywhere to put all my stuff! (and Matthew had some stuff too...)
I was very impressed with Matthew because he was determined that by the end of the weekend, we would have nightstands! He built both nightstands in an hour (plus a little) and then spent the next day painting so that by Sunday night, we were looking preeeeeeeetty darn organized! (and by "we" this time, I really mean me. . . Matthew tends to be a little more organized than myself. . . as a general rule.)
So, this is the finished look! Isn't it a beauty?! I think so! Thanks Matthew!
[As a side note, since moving into our new house, Matthew has been quite the handyman. He has not only fixed the garbage disposal, our bedroom fan/light (which has some random wires cut so that the fan could be on when the light was off), he also hung up tons of stuff for our house!
After a summer of building/staining/painting a deck with his dad, he was feeling like a major handyman, ready to tackle a new project! Thank goodness, because we decided we needed to get ourselves some nightstands! After visiting TONS of furniture stores (by tons I mean two) and by using the Google to look at other options, Matthew was firmly convinced that the best way to go was to build them ourselves! (and by ourselves, I mean Matthew)
So, we spent a weekend (from here on out, "we" really means "Matthew") drawing up some plans, going to the Home Depot (I did tag along...and picked out the paint color!! Yay me!), and built them in the front yard of Aubrey and Kenny's house!
So, this is the finished look! Isn't it a beauty?! I think so! Thanks Matthew!
He's a keeper!
